Thought of the Day

16120 Perhaps I’m on my own here, but I love bonus content on DVDs. The commentaries, the deleted scenes, all of it just makes me love the movie even more, and yes, I’m one of those people who is willing to shell out extra money for the deluxe edition of a DVD. But I have plenty of friends that just rent movies, and yes, they too enjoy bonus features. But that’s going to change pretty soon, if Fox has anything to say. The company is removing bonus features from DVD rentals, so you get a movie and if you wanted anything else, I guess you’ll have to buy the DVD. I take it as a new way to battle piracy, even though most people only download the movie itself. But it does raise a question of why. Yes, we know that you’re trying to make the DVD purchase experience more “purchase worthy” but aren’t you also screwing the fan base that just wants to enjoy a movie once, and maybe listen to some commentary on why a scene was made the way it was.

Thought of the Day

W&L_MW3 As we continue to question what’s happening with the economy, there’s another question popping in the heads of writers all across America, and that question is “what kind of entertainment do we need to see now?” Our culture has always found a way to escape what’s on our minds, but now, what’s on our minds is in our escapism, so how do we escape it?

Thought of the Day

Demy-sb1I don't know about you, but I hate using recipes from an old-fashion cookbook? I wind up spilling half of my ingredients on the recipe itself instead putting it into the appropriate bowl. Well, finally a new device has arrived that challenges the paper cookbook yet let's you store all of grandma's recipes.

These tough times are creating many problems for people as they try to pay the bills and find jobs. Thought of the Day

Religion Religion is a controversial part of any culture, and with more people choosing not to believe, we have to wonder what separates the believers from the non-believers. Turns out believing in God can help reduce anxiety and stress, but the study also shows believers have significantly less brain activity in relation to their own errors.

Thought of the Day

Shopping_mall_photo_Tomitheos There is a significant amount of risk associated with starting a new business and selecting a location to sell products from. Couple this risk with the current economy and people simply are not doing it. Now that malls are faced with this dilemma, they have improvised and come up with an attractive solution.

Organize your Thinking

With the thousands of Thoughts constantly streaming into Neemee, how do you stay organized? The answer lies in the gray rectangle at the bottom of your screen when you are logged into Neemee.

This gray bar is the all encompassing tool to organize and collaborate through Neemee. There are a few things you should know about it.

  1. The triangle at the far left is to expand or collapse the size of the gray bar.
  2. The folder icon with a green plus sign allows you to quickly create a new collection. For example, if you want to start a collection for all thoughts that relate to the economy. Simply click this icon, name your collection, and create it.
  3. The file folder icon without a green plus sign quickly takes you to a page displaying all of the collections you are a member of.

So what is all of this extra gray space? When you are on a page showing your collections (see #3 above), you can simply click on the collection icon, and then drag and drop it into the gray area.  You can load the entire gray bar full of your favorite collections so anytime you see a thought you want to add, you simply click on it and drag it to the collection at the bottom. This makes for fast, fun, and easy thought browsing and collecting.

A few final thoughts:

  • When you have the bar expanded and there are collections in it, the "t:#" and the "u:#" indicates how many thoughts are in the collection and how many users are a member of that collection.
  • These collections will stay in the gray area until you click the "x" in the top right to remove them.
  • In the picture you will notice we are dragging the thought oatmeal toward the collection "Health Food." Once over the collection, we will release it to add to the collection. Other users can be added using the same method.

Thought of the Day

Grassroots1-560x746 There are plenty of professional athletes who have gone from idol to embarrassment overnight. A short list includes: Mike Tyson, OJ Simpson, Pete Rose, Mark McGuire, The Black Sox, and most recently Michael Phelps. The resulting action can be anything from losing sponsorships to permanent suspension. So where should these atheletes turn for income? For Michael Phlelps it could be the hemp store down the street.

Though of the Day

Newspapers What do you do if your industry is spiraling to a crash? A new idea addressing this problem is to partner with a company also experiencing problems but in a modern industry. Sometimes you have to look across the border and help everyone involved.
